MBA Mysteries of Medicare Seminar
As you probably know, Medicare is a federal health insurance program administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) that pays for a variety of health care expenses; typically for senior citizens who are 65 years of age and older. If you are approaching your 65th birthday, you’ve probably been getting crushed by the amount of mail, phone calls and overall information being directed your way.
To help our members and their family and friends take the Mysteries out of Medicare, The Minnesota Benefit Association (MBA) has contracted with Benafica, an Independent Insurance Agency located in Saint Paul that specializes in Medicare. They have access to all Medicare plans offered in the state and are a great resource for those of you looking to compare your retiree plan option with the plans on the individual market.
Each month our trusted Partner, Benafica will host a virtual informational Medicare Seminar on Zoom. The seminars are held on the 2nd Wednesday of every Month in 2022 beginning in February.
What might I learn by attending the Mysteries of Medicare Seminar?
A Benafica Medicare Advisor will walk through the ins and outs of Medicare. Advisors will discuss what Medicare is and how it works; how to know what you need to do and when; and what the costs associated with Medicare might be. There is not a one size fits all with Medicare, and their Advisors will give you some context about the basics of what you need to know to find the path that suits your needs.
Who is eligible to attend?
Benafica has a long partnership with the MBA and are proud to offer its expertise to MBA members and their family and friends. While membership for the MBA is limited to public employees and their immediate family members, everyone is welcome to attend the MBA Mysteries of Medicare Seminar. Benafica’s Medicare Advisors are endorsed by the MBA to assist its members, but they are also able to help any member of general public who may need assistance with Medicare. Feel free to invite friends and family. There is no cost associated with this service.
