Scholarship Program
The MBA Scholarship Program
The Minnesota Benefit Association sponsors an annual scholarship program. Over the last 50 years scholarships have been awarded to hundreds of members and their families; we are proud to deliver this program enabling students from communities across Minnesota to continue their education.
Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, academic achievement, vocational goals, employment history, community involvement and an original essay. Scholarship application forms are available by November 1 of each year at school, city and county offices throughout the state. Completed applications must be postmarked by April 15.
The scholarships are funded in part by the MBA endorsed benefit providers and in part by contributions from MBA members. If you would like to make a contribution to this very worthwhile program, you may make a donation.

Thank you so much for the support and I am honored to be a recipient of the Minnesota Benefit Association Scholarship! I am so grateful for the opportunities the scholarship presents and cannot express how much the help given by the Minnesota Benefit Association means to me.
I truly appreciate being selected for this scholarship. It plays a large part in my effort to keep my student loan debt as low as possible. Since I am relying on scholarships and loans to cover my costs for college. My future plans include attending Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, Minnesota. While I’m there I will be running track and cross country along with studying high school social studies education with a minor in coaching. My graduation year is slated to be 2026, although due to the college credit I have received in high school there is a good chance that I could get my bachelor’s degree by 2025, then I could possibly work on my masters for my last year of school as I finish my running career. Once I graduate, I plan on getting a job somewhere in Minnesota and hopefully I am able to plant my roots early and stay there. I chose SMSU for a few reasons. The biggest one though is some thing that is hard to explain. When I first walked in the campus when I was on my visit, something just felt right. The first thought that came to my head was “This feels right”. Then from that point on, throughout the rest of the visit I knew that it was the place for me. Once again thank you for selecting me to receive this scholarship.
I have received and I’m truly grateful for the grant award! This grant will help me as I seek to become a mechanical engineer. The grant also brings a huge relief to me as it helps me pay for college. Thank you so much MBA scholarship committee!
I wanted to thank you for your generous Minnesota Benefit Association Scholarship. I am very appreciative to know that I was selected as the recipient of your scholarship. I will be a business major with an emphasis in Finance, and I will be attending Minnesota State University, Mankato this fall. I will be a freshman carrying 15 credits, and I plan to graduate in the spring of 2025. Thanks to your Association, I am one step closer to making that happen. By awarding me this scholarship it has relieved a part of my financial struggles, which will allow me to focus on my education. This fall I will be a senior in the Environmental Earth Science program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. This is a different campus than what was listed on my application (former school was Kapiolani Community College, I will also be calling to also voice this change).

I am so grateful for this scholarship as it will help me to pursue in my jounry of becoming a registered dietician. I feel very passionate about health and helping others better their health. think the best way I can accomplish this is by becoming a registered dietician which requires at least a bachelor’s degree, and soon a master’s degree will also be needed. Since I’m so passionate about this I am determined to make it happen, but of course there are obstacles. The biggest obstacle I face is being able to get through each year of school without have an insurmountable amount of debt. Being that I support myself with a part time job while being a full time student things aren’t always easy. So receiving this award really means a lot to me, and I appreciate the help in my journey to pursue my dream.
Thanks a bunch for this generous scholarship – it will be put to good use in furthering my studies at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. I plan to pursue a dual-degree in the fields of Architecture and Finance – and then to use this knowledge to help people using good design and my business expertise. Thank youfor the $1,000 scholarship. I will be using it at Concordia College, Moorhead this fall. Until then, I have a job at the City of Henning as the summer maintenance.
